The set that is best is the one that you hit the best and is within your budget. If you ask me to pick just one for the average golfer, I would say Ping because it is a quality product with forgiveness -- easy for the average player to hit. It also offers a variety of clubfitting options to better ensure you are getting the right club for you. MacGregor also makes an excellent product, having just revamped its operations (I went to a MacGregor breakfast/seminar this winter with Greg Norman). The clubs can also be fitted for you, but make sure you go to a clubfitting expert. At this point, however, I would recommend MacGregor for the intermediate to advanced player. It is definitely a quality club, and the driver is probably one of the best on the market.

Ping hands down. These are really good clubs for people that want a custom fit not run of the mill. If you hear of someone who doesn't like them, it's usually because they picked up a used set adjusted for someone elses body and swing type. If you get fit PROPERLY then you will love these clubs, if you don't want to spend the time or money then you can get a set like the rest of the hanyacks out there buying new clubs every year. And never getting to groove your swing.

if how you hit them didn't matter then by far... i would say ping. if you haven't hit them all and tried them out then... do that and make sure they are the right clubs for you. if you hit them all the same and can't decide then i would definitly get the pings. they are great clubs and i know so many people that hit them. my golf coach (i'm not a team cause i'm not in highschool yet) but my friend and i take lessons and that is all he hits and same with 2 of my cousins. All 3 of those guys are PGA Professionals.
Good Luck!!

If you simply are going by price then the Honma would probably be the "better" set. The correct answer would probably be whichever you play the best with.

chuck has a point... ping has many different fits... they are built custom for how you play... if you are a beginner, i'd recommend something cheaper until you know how to swing the same every time, then go get the pings...
