kinda. also in the way they force their practices and ideologies on us when we tell them the way God wants it. they did that to people in Jesus' day too.

Actually, the pharisees were the religious, the devout, the "people of God'. They prayed regularly, they memorized scripture, they condemned the unbelieving as being ignorant since they didn't follow the same man-made rules that they themselves had invented, and that had nothing to do with God's laws.
What is really sad is how much of organized religion today resembles the pharisees. The world's blindness doesn't surprise me as much as the blindness of those that claim to see.
How many of the world don't believe, simply because what they have seen of the "people of God" more resembles the pharisees than Jesus? How many of the world would believe, if we could walk in love as Jesus walked?
Dear Jesus, have mercy on us, help us to be humble servants as You were Lord. Give us eyes of compassion! Give us hearts full of mercy and love. Help us to see our faults, help us to see where we ourselves might be like pharisees, bring healing to Your church, that we might walk in obedience and bring about more miracles than Jesus did.
Help us to be like Jesus!!

Pharisees were suppose to be Christians, not people of the world. But you are correct, some of the so-called people who call on the Name of the Lord are more unlearned than some who are considered blind. May God BLess U.

The lesson of the Pharisees is not that unbelievers are like that. The lesson is that believers can be like that.
We can fall into the trap of trying so hard to justify ourselves that we fail to really look at ourselves and see what we need to change.
We have all the Light, but we refuse to see sometimes.

I would say they are not even that. the Pharisees had the truth, yet didnt use it or live it.
The world does not have the truth, only darkness. Blessed is the person that hasnt heard the Gospel comared to the person that has heard it and rejected it!

Most of the scoffers and God haters here on this thread act exactly like the Pharisees in their hatred of jesus.
They are unwittingly fulfilling Scripture....
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ....false accusers,....fierce,despisers of them that are good,....traitors, ,....lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,.......ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of Truth".( II Tim. 3:1-7)

It was already been prophecised by christ himself, that only few people will find the the way of life, not all people will believe and search for the truth, most of them will be blinded by their own iniquities!

i guess, somewhat.but in my opinion,a lot of people who say they're christians, remind me of the pharisees.they go around, judging, condemning, pointing their finger at everyone.while, the whole time, they're really doing things, that they accuse other people of doing.
a true christian should look at themselves and their own sin first.don't worry about other people's sin.the one sin i do judge, though,is if someone doesn't believe in Jesus.i'm very concerned for these people.and if anyone mocks Jesus,or ridicules Him,i do get very defensive.there's some things that i just don't find acceptable.

Yes. we are nearer each day.
But I humble my self in prayer daily. For I know for sure the time is nearer . For God is coming back...for his people.
HE is LORD of LORDs ....and KING of KINGs....
I cant wait too look upon his Face and humble myself before HIM and touch the hem of his garmet. And personally Thank HIM for all HE has done for me. Amen !

Amazing. I see just the opposite. I see the modern American Protestant version of the church being the Pharisaical ones. Expecting everybody to get into lock-step (goose-step?) with their "sola-scriptura-or the highway" attitudes....where is the grace???

Yes, very much so. And they are happy being blind. It's so sad. I pray for the ones I see here.
