I bought after market pins for a 97 ram pickup and can not get the old pins out? dodge says to change the whole bracket assembly but the after market places sell the pin and bushing kits!

support the door, unbolt one hinge, drive out the pin, drive in the new one, (you may have to ream out the hole for the bushing), put the hinge back in. repeat for the other one. put any shims back where you found them & make sure the hinges bolt in in exactly the same position they were originally in, otherwise the door'll be crooked.

i work on them everyday. you don't need to ream out the holes. just knock the pin out then drive the new one in its place. you will have to crimp the ring on the door pin. we have a tool we have at the plant. so far that take a look at the ring see if you can find a way t crimp it before you do it.(do it one at a time),this will help keep the door fit.

i own a repair shop,and on these i think you have to grind the head of them off to get them out,but they will come out ,i have put them in before but its been a while on a ram ,i been going more gm,s lately than anything else,but i know they will go in and work good,i hope this helps.
