So I just booked a flight online for my sister from LA to Sacramento. She gave me her billing information and all that, and they send me this e-mail giving me a confirmation number. I gave the number to my sister, and she's telling me that she needs the ticket number too. So I'm sitting here waiting for another e-mail that she says is going to come, but it doesn't. Then I look at the e-mail again and it says TICKETLESS. So should she just go to the airport with just the confirmation number? Is there something else that she needs to have?

She is fine. Tell her to bring a Valid ID with her and Credit Card or Debit Card sometimes works. She can go to the Southwest Kiosk at the Terminal and print one up at the Airport. If from LAX show up probably 1.5 to 2 hours early. You can also have a txt message sent to your phone saying when she left and when she is arriving so you can pick her up. All available on southwest. Since you are internet savy she can check in 24 hours before her time of departure. Most of this information is found on the Southwest airlines website. Good luck and if all fails call them. They are nice on the phone at least they have always been to me. In the future go onto ebay purchase some drink tickets for a $1 and one of you can get the party started early...haha. Provided you are both or 1 of you is 21.

The airlines never mail you a paper ticket anymore. She should just go to the airport check-in with her confirmation number and they will look you up in the computer and find the reservation. Sometimes the confirmation email takes a few hours to come (I book TONS of flights online since I fly several times a month)

The confirmation number is the six number and/or letter code. If she looks down further on the confirmation page she will she a twelve digit number if she is flying Southwest Airlines it starts with 526 this is her ticket number.

She can check in online with just the confirmation number usually if it is a major airline like Delta, Airtran, American, etc. You can go to their website and they will have a place where you can check in, and she can print out her boarding pass at home. No worries....good luck and have fun with your sister!!
