Atheist have morals. Some "Christians" do not have morals. Atheist do not have God's divine leadership which is different from simple morality. A Christian is suppose to be willing to lay down their very life in service of God. This goes beyond human morality.
Saying that you lack morals without knowing you would suggest that all atheists are murderers, thieves, adulterers and poor parents. Which any sensible person would know is not the case. Anyone can be raised with some basic sense of right and wrong regardless of their beliefs.

It is more accurate to say that oyu have no objective foundation for morality being that you deny a creator. Try a book called "Can we be good without God" by Paul Chamberlain. In it, a Christian, a moral relativist, and 3 atheists each construct and critique the possible foundations for morality. Excellent book and highly enlightening.

People with religious faith have their morals mirrored in their religion or, even taught to them through it. Many (certainly not all) assume that without having them spelled out a person can not have a system of morals.
It can only be true if you are a sociopath. Even religious people can be sociopaths. Some sociopaths even have systems of morality.
If you have morals and they say you don't then it is obviously not true.

It is not true. Those people are ignorant to what morals are or how people developed them. Moral's are, put very simply, a persons ability to empathies with another. To be able to know what they are feeling and maybe even thinking, then putting yourself in their shoes. Our brains are wired to do it. Some better than others. People with damaged brains or with under developed ability to empathies with others are the ones with no moral. It's a social mechanism in our brains. Believing in religious fairy tails does not give any one morals.

I very much believe in God and I say all the time that Jesus is my best friend, but I don't believe that anyone should pass that judgement on you. " judge the not, lest the be judged "
I think you should believe in God for your own sake so that if anything really bad happened to you you would never feel all alone( there are times when even your closest friends can bail on you and no matter how strong you are you feel alone)but you have to believe in God your own way whether you choose to be part of an organized religion or not, but most important, you need to make the decision to believe, it can't be made for you and I don't believe that you should be put down for what you believe or do not believe as long as your nonbelief does not infringe or insult others beliefs the way thier belief should not infringe on, or insult you. May you realize Gods unconditional love for you and if you never do may it shine on you any way. peace

That's just silly! Society in an of itself has morals, God or no God. I think many supposedly "religious" people have elevated themselves as the world's moral compass and anyone or anything that isn't of them is without morals. That speaks more to their lack of knowledge of God than it does about you--or me.

Where did morals come from? Did they evolve, or were they created by someone? How can you believe in something you can't see? Can you prove to me that morals exist?
I don't know why you would waste your time with such things if there is no one to give an account to.
Even if you violate your own conscience, just die and forget about it!

Whether or not you believe in God has absolutely nothing to do with your morality. Whether or not you are a good person is the determinant of your morality.

I, qualifyingly, agree with them -- hear me out.
A moral set is founded upon a religous set of laws.
An ethical set is founded from just ordinary laws and personal convictions.
So since an atheist has no religion, he therefore has no morals.
But he can have EXCELLENT ethics.

Well, obviously it's not true. That's just one of their standard arguments to try to make you feel like you're missing out and that they they hold all the stock in morality, goodness, happiness, and spirituality. Which, obviously, is also not true.
