The basics behind Feng Shui really do work. There are a lot of parts of it that when you think about it make a lot of sense. One of the basics being that a house at the corner of two streets will not be as happpy a home as one on a straight street. Think about it, who wants all those cars going by, makes sense to me.
Anyway, yes, actually we were having touble filling a job at a company I worked at. One of the people I worked with decided to do a Feng Shui ritual to change the feelings of the space and get someone to stay at the job. Well, after the whole affair, it actually worked and we got someone for the job, and they stayed.
But what you are asking is probably thinking about having children and them moving things like toys or maybe even a bit of the furniture around. that's not really a part of Feng shui, it can work with a family, it's the totality of the house and how you arrange the furniture, colors of paint, etc that is what matters. Don't worry about the kids, go for it if it's what you want to try.

There was an Episode from Penn and Teller about this, I cannot tell you the name of the show since it involves a word that I could be reported for. But what they did was take 2 or 3 experts and put them all in one house to make the "energy" flow correctly. If there were any reality to this, then they all would have come up with the exact or very close arrangement of the objects. However they all had very different setups for the house.

if you hire somebody good in fengshui and do your house based on fengshui, you would not worry about these things. only people who do not know fengshui put things around the house and say that it is fengshui.

if you know fengshui, arrange the house based on fengshui. it just mean that the more you use your favorite rooms, the more that they are "activated" - giving you good fengshui. and the more you leave alone storage rooms, the more you lessen the bad things that can happen. how can the children move the rooms?

putting chimes, mirrors and mandarin ducks are not fengshui! they are remedies, and they are very simple remedies used by people who do not understand fengshui.

there is even a formula that if your toilet is placed right, the more you flush, the more money you will gain! now, i cannot really think of anything how can your children move a toilet.

Feng Shui is just a way to arrange your home so you are comfortable and everywhere you look is pleasant. It's not magic...it's personal comfort.

Relax. It can be a pain in the rear to get together, but when it's finished you will get to a point when you know something ain't right and what it is. So fixing it isn't hard.

Sorry, it's all bullshit. It doesn't work, and asking an 'expert' will set you back a few hundred bucks. And oddly enough, any other 'expert' will then tell you it's all wrong and has to be redone.

I dunno about bad energy, but I like the way they have you arrange stuff sometimes. In particular, facing the desk outwards and towards the door. It's much better that way.
