put the emphasis on the first syllable of both words

'Grande' (pronounced grand-ay)

'Venti' (no matter which way you pronounce it - ven-tay, or ven-tee, the barista will correct you with whatever form you didn't use! Tread very carefully when ordering this size).

Its seems italian to me.... grande "graahn-day"
