Deep South Peach Cobbler

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 cups sliced peaches
1/2 cup sugar

Melt margarine in 10-inch round baking dish. Tjen, mix flour, sugar and baking powder in mixing bowl. Add milk, mix til combined. Spoon over melted butter in dish. Heat the peaches with the sugar. Pour over dough. Bake at 350° about 30 minutes until crust is golden brown. Crust will rise to the top around the edges.

Melt one stick butter in 13x9 pan

Mix:
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Pour into pan with butter. DO NOT STIR.


If using fresh peaches:
Peel and chop peaches. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Put in a pan with 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water. Cook stirring until tender and sugar is absorbed into peaches.
Place peaches over batter in pan. Pour juice over and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.

If using canned peaches, just dip peaches from can and place evenly over batter and pour juice from can over and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.
Bake at 350 degrrees for 30-35 min. until brown and bubbly.
