GOOD question!
May I spread a little sunshine your way...
I've been in the hospital more than a year, seen someone in a car after they committed suicide, seen war (from the Nam days on TV, thank you Walter!), talked to the people from Southeast Asia who escaped Communism, talked to an old guy who had a marriage for 65 years before his wife died and asked him how HE did it, teased, and been horribly teased, been provoked to fight and beaten up, been provoked to fight and BEAT HIM up; Laughed at people when I SHOULDN'T have, BEEN laughed at when I shouldn't have; had an aunt that died a terrible death prematurely when I was almost 17; missed a whole year of school because of illness; had to wear a body cast and back brace for about 5 years; almost was raped, I say almost, because it freaked me out a "friend" was talking to me about his lifestyle when I had NO way out, and he was MUCH bigger than me; my mother and then baby brother were taken from me when I was young, for a year. THIS CRUSHED my soul; I was ALMOST arrested for a traffic thingy with a "gang" I hung with; AND THERE's SO MUCH MORE to say. My Aunt dieing the way she did, her murder, and seeing the man in the car dead, spoke VOLUMES to me in MY life!! I STILL cry at night, in secret over them!!
But, I find that what Jesus SAID IS TRUE!! ANGER DOES DRIVE HOSTILITY, and BAD BAD THINGS in YOUR life!! And it HURTS SO MANY people! WE REALLY DO need to forgive, and forgive, and forgive some MORE, UNTIL that day. Until that day when we are called to glory, and Jesus says,"Well done faithful servant. Enter here into the Kingdom."

Life is for a reason, we humans are for a reason everything is for a reason. The question I ask is what can i do why I'm here that is of real importance and what will help me do that Id say after looking at all religion Christianity is the one what is best it doesn't seem easy to not do what you always want to like forgive somone or be happy for someon when they get ahead of you. It teaches us why we are here and what to do while here. Christianity is all about loving others more than you and by accepting what what on person Jesus did on the cross you have a guaranteed place in Heaven just by believing that seems awesome to me. Life and humanity are all answered differently by what you believe about them. If were are here by creation there is a meaning if we are here by evolution than there is just what makes us feel good and then we should do what ever that is. Life to me is creation and that gives it purpose and great meaning to Know That I am NEEDED in this WORLD AS a Humans

Well here we go,I will not call this philosphy, this is living life how it happens for you and making the right choices to make that a little better.
I'll start with the guy who said never marry a pretty girl.WRONG!,I did I will admit it caused alot of pain divorce and all,but today I have three beautifu, sucessful children who love me,and grandchildren to love and hold, thats a little about life.
About human beings,I love them all,I don't like what some say or do,but for me they are children of GOD.
I myself have had alot that I had to get myself, being abandoned at 12,I was an angry person, but a nice one.
I also grew in fear,of being hurt again by people, friends, loves, etc.
I've learned to trust since then, but thats still tricky.
I also needed EVERY relation to make me feel better about myself,it worked for awhile but I still had some bad feelings about me.
If I didn't answer all,I did my best tonight, please don't clutter your mind with the past stay in the present and go on to the future, good luck

Life is what happens between birth and death. If we're fortunate we have significant influence over what occurs.
We're social animals that need social interaction and physical contact with each other to be healthy. So of course it's need, but sometimes it's our need to make others feel better, not just ourselves feel better. My most significant relationships began with helping complete strangers out for no reason other than they needed it and I could. Compassion, to my initial suprise, ended up meeting my needs as well as the other person's. Not always the case at all. Frequently not. But occasionally it's been life altering in a marvelous way.
I've been with pretty girls all my life. It's lots of work and very little reward being with something who has never had to work at a relationship because they are tolerated for their beauty no matter how selfish and boorish they behave. I'm having brunch with one tomorrow. We really can't control who we're attracted to, can we?
I just noticed something in your post set off a storm of condescension and evangelism. I don't know why. I thought it was intelligent and intended to open a wide conversation. I get the sense that you're levels above all the folks here preaching at you.

your philosophy is very akin to the greek cynic that thought all of us were motivated solely be self interest ! this is only a part of my adopted philosophy. that ranges through most ot the gamet to arrive at atheism tempered with buddhism and Einsteinyism with a twist of Fruedian support. but when all is said and done experience precluded it all .And not all plain janes are good hearted some pretty ones don't know how they look;but I will always check for character after a few horible relationships to chalk up.

There are no soul-mates. There is human and sensual attraction, compatibility, yes... - but - I have found in the long run, that the marriages that do last (every couple I have married is still married, 100% of them!!) understand that it is NOT about passion, it's not about need....it's about the commitment. The vows. The sacramental commitment made by "the two"....who become one flesh.

My life was a wreck, I did drugs couldn't hold down a job, couldn't stay married. Just a total wreck then finally one night in desperation at the age of 33 I cried out to God. And what happened next shocked me more than anything that has ever happened to me. Things that I was not able to explain in the natural realm starting happening to me. I realized much to my shock and amazement that God was real and had hear my prayer, I could not believe it.
And he has been proving himself to me ever since.

Here are my two life philosophies -
Ye shall know a tree by it's fruit. If the fruit is good, then the whole tree is good. (This has to do with actions vs. just talk - whether it's individuals, a church, a job, whatever.)
Be the change you wish to see in the world.

My philosophy about life is that I have given my old sinful life to Jesus and he in turn has transformed it into something new and good. We are called to live life by the spirit and do the will of God while we are here.

God didn't need me. But one day He chose to start a relationship with me by revealing His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, as the One who died in my place, so I could be reconciled to God. Since that day I have been a child of God. My family life is good !
