Yes, the new US passport law requires that all US citizens carry a passport when leaving and entering the country.

If you are flying, YES you need a passport anytime you leave the USA. That law went into effect the end of Jan. 2007. I thin another law goes into effect next year or maybe the year after for travelers by boats and cars that will require a passport. I hope this answers your question.

yes you need a passport for the bahamas and mexico.

you only need a passport to enter canada by air as of 2007. In 2008 you will need one to enter Canada by land or sea.

well.... if your going to the airport u willl need a passport if drive am not sure but am 100% sure u need a passport for Canada

You will need a passport for any of those destinations. And I would apply for one before you book your trip, sometimes they take a while to get.
