Terrible toothache after a root canal...?

Question

I had a root canal on the front tooth, and now anything that touches it hurts like hell, and it feels as if it will fall out.
Is it normal? and how can i stop this pain? advil doesnt work

i had a root canal 3 days ago on my front tooth.. yes it hurts like hell!!!!!!!!! i am taking vicodin 500mg.. its the only thing which takes the pain away. yes its normal.. the nerve in the tooth was manipulated ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!! it will go away soon.hang in there

FIRST OF ALL, PAIN OF A TOOTH, ESPECIALLY WITH A FRONT TOOTH SHOULD NOT BE PAINFUL WHEN IT IS TOUCHED.
THE NERVE HAS BEEN REMOVED SO THE TOOTH SHOULD NO LONGER FEEL ANYTHING, RIGHT???
THAT IS USUALLY THE CASE, UNLESS THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE ROOT FOR WHICH THE PAIN WOULD BE SENSED BY THE BONE THAT SURROUNDS THIS TOOTH. A POSSIBLE ROOT FRACTURE MAY HAVE OCCURRED.
HAVE AN ENDODONTIST EVALUATE THIS TOOTH A.S.A.P.

i had a root canal and it took almost 2 weeks for that feeling to go away. vicoden didnt even touch the pain. if this last very long go back to your dentist it is possible they missed some of the root. i feel for you. there is nothing worse than a tooth ache like this.

Just had that done myself.Back tooth though.Tell doctor to give you a pain killer.It does take a few days to feel a little better.Mouth pain is the worst.

ummm...probably talk to a dentist. The pain will go away sooner or later, my dad had gotten one.He also said it hurt, its normal.

There is a possibility that this was done improperly and the nerve was not killed.
