One flavour of cheese? One style of automobile? Only one sports game? Life would be so dull!! A variety of religions suits a variety of people's needs. Let's hope that we never outlaw all religions but one. That would be the end of freedom of choice.

No. I don't want a one world religion. Religion is man made and subject to corruption - to be used by those in power as a way to control people.

Plus, it woult take away any freedom of religion. I can't imagine the entire world wanting to worship in exactly the same way.

I think we would actually have more problems with a one world religion then with the various religions we have now. Especially since in our current climate that one world religion would most likely be controled by the government.

We've seen periods throughout history where one religion has ruled over a vast area. Those times didn't work out well. I would hate to think of the same effect on a world wide scale.

No! Why? Okay, think about it... today there are a whole load of religions, right? And many of them are hostile against one another (even if it doesn't come down to physical violence). Muslims think their ideas are right. Christians think they've got the answer. Jews get blamed for everything. Hindus have their opinions of correct religious behavior. They spend a lot of their time debating which is best. Imagine now that the world of the religious is united as one. That number would measure in at around 4 billion people at least.

With everyone having a collective religious mind, things like atheism and agnosticism will be stamped out as the united religious force would have no-one to target other than the above two groups mentioned.

The thought of one world religion is enough to make me wake up at night in a cold sweat.

It would eliminate hatred and violence centered on religious difference, but I'm sure that humanity would find other reasons to kill one another....

And no matter how understanding and compassionate the religion might be, given time the core values would be misconstrued and used to justify harming people.

Well, are the masses prepared to give up any semblance of sanity and join the Church of Yahoo?

No, And you'll see during the tribulation, one world church and Christians being martyred. It will just be preparation for Armageddon.
