I can't hold on much longer.

I am 17 and don't know what to do or how to deal with this. I know I should really tell someone but I can't, I fear this is going to get bad fast. I am depressed and can't even talk to people comfortably right now. I'm so worried, stressed, and mentally torn down that I can't even get away or out of the situation. I really think I may need some serious help.

Get some help. You cannot do it alone.

What do you mean by mental breakdown? Are you losing touch with reality? Are you "burnt-out"? Are you feeling depressed?

You need to see a doctor. If you feel like you are becoming dangerous to yourself or others, you may need to go to a doctor immediately, i.e. the emergency room. If you feel that you really cannot hold on no matter what type of breakdown you may be having, call your doctor immediately.

Are you in a dangerous situation right now? Is there someone or something that is bothering you making you break down? Get away from it/him/her. NOW. Call the police if necessary.

Do you have a friend or relative that you can trust? Someone that will take care of you for a little while? You need a break or you will breakdown.

Start with counselling, as soon as possible. Your therapist can help you determine whether it would be helpful to also see a psychiatrist and get on medication for a while. If you're feeling like a danger to your self or others you should head to the ER. If they feel it's necessary they're obligated to find you a bed in a behavioural health unit. It sounds extreme, but it's really not so bad and it's definitely better than hurting yourself or someone else.

I had a nervous breakdown and it was the most horrible thing that has ever happened to me. I could not eat because I had nausea the whole time, lost a lot of weight. I could not concentrate at all. Could not even relate to others and have a conversation. Woke up in the morning feeling really week and lack of energy. My legs would shake. I started to have hallucinations and strange thoughts like killing myself or harm others. You do not want to go through that. STOP. Life is telling you to stop whatever is making you stressed. Do yoga or take a walk. Breath deep and sleep all you want. Remember STOP till it is too late. Argentox2@yahoo.com

step back and take a breath. things are always bad but you need to see that they could ALWAYS be worse. try taking a you day. do anything you want...just for you. talk to friends or family. ask for help. if you feel its bad enough, go see a doctor. maybe an anti-anxiety medication would help

Find a crisis centre. Try not to be alone. Find a friend to spend time with. If you're in school, they should have a counsellor on staff.

Find help, honey, it'll be okay :o)

If you have insurance, check yourself in for 72 hours of clinical observation. If you don't have any insurance, find a support group.
