See, if Christianity has a symbol to believe in, it's okay. But if another religion does the same thing (for example, Pagans have statue of Gods and Goddesses they use as symbols.) it would be considered idol-worship.
Hypocrisy at it's finest!

I'm a sinner, I think the symbol of Jesus on a cross taking away the sins of man is rubbish. Jesus was another prophet trying to get power by saying he was the son of God (an unknown) and would take the sins of man and pay the repentance for those sins.
After he did this did anything change. Why would a God just send another down to Earth to do his work, why not just come down himself.
I agree all religions are hypocritical and all religions should be banned as they all create idols to worship. They think they can get away with this because they call their idols God. There are things changing in the way we think and at some point in our future anybody who believes in a religoius god in controll of what we do will be put in an asylum.
Yes Jesus is an idol and it should be a sin to worship him. Even if there was a god isnt he going to be a bit upset that everybody worships Jesus rather than him.
It just doesnt make any sense and religous people are all too caught up in this denial that over 2000 years the group thay are attached to are believing in something that doesnt exist.
The Earth is the center of the universe and was made in 6 days etc etc etc.

No , Jesus on a cross cannot be termed an idol because we recall Jesus Christ and His suffering when we gaze at a cross which helps better at concentrating in prayer since human beings are a visual people. How can it be a sin to worship God as represented by the cross??????
We worship Our Lord as represented in the cross and not the material of the cross itself. So for example , if the cross was destroyed in a fire, it wouldnt matter for our worship would not come to an end.
Whereas if you made a statue of a calf or a duck or whatever and bowed down and worshipped that material as God Himself , that would be considered idol worship.
Are not the stained glass windows in your churches images? Are they idols for you? You may not like images of Christ on a Cross, but you make no bones about singing in your hymns "in the Cross of Christ we glory." Is there sense in your singing about the Cross and then rebelling against a real cross?
Catholics dont worship the statues in their church. We remember and worship Christ when we look at a cross and we remember the living saints in heaven and talk to them of our needs asking them for their prayers when we stand before their statues on earth. Just as you would call up a family member or friend and ask them for their prayers when you were going through a bad time.

Ok Time to bring the facts! Jesus is the one a only messiah. How. Answer this question. Who was the only man to fulfill the all of the Christ (messiah) Propheices in the old testament. Jesus. It's so hard to except the fact the Jesus is the Messiah. Many people denine his ressurection though all of the other prophices where true. But even after his death many people sited him. around the same times in different areas. There are to many biblical facts that it's hard to believe that, people still don't get it? Jesus is the messiah. Not an idol. He is the trinity with God. How you ask wellit's like this. There's H20. It has 3 forms. Solid, liquid, and gas, but it's still a liquid. Here's another example. Youcan be you, your mom's son, your sister's brother, but it's still one person you. That's how God, Jesus, and the spirit is. So yea to anwser your question,... NO not at all.

The answer is yes.
To worship a so-called crucifix, is nothing short of an act of idolatry.
The Catholic Church, for hundreds of years declared that to be so. But, when the Roman Emporer Constantine had his famous 'dream' of riding to victory carrying the sign of the cross, and he did, is when Roman Law began allowing for any and all to carry crucifixes with them, and it has been an uphill battle ever since. At some point, the Catholic Church just decided that if they couldn't beat the idolators, they might as well join them.

Jesus, on or off the cross, is GOD. Therefore it is a sin NOT to worship Him.

No. It's a religious symbol.
Jesus is worshipped because He is the only Son of the one true God, and the way to salvation of the eternal soul.
