Not where people are looking for weight loss. The only weight that would be lost is the what is supposed to come out.
Laxatives only help the bowels to work like they are supposed too. Laxatives are for relief of constipation. I do not think they should be used on a daily basis.
To me the human body is a wonderful thing for its ability to adapt to darned near any environment.
Like me for instance, I have a TENS unit for electronic nerve stimulation. I get addicted to the constant electrical shock, so much that I have to turn up the TENS unit. Much like a drug addiction. Then I reach a plateau where the electronic stimulation no longer works. I have to wean myself off from the TENS unit for awhile. Then put it back on. Let me tell you I do not wish those processes I have to go through on anyone.
So Laxative will do the same thing to your body. They will take you to a plateau where you will need them for your body to function properly.
A proper diet of the four basic food groups are better than using laxatives for weight loss..

I hope you don't try it, it's a sign of an eating disorder. Some people with bulimia use laxatives instead of throwing up. Laxatives are for treating constipation, not for losing weight.

Yes, but that is actually a form of bulemia,
and frequent pooping causes hemerhoids!
So don't go there! Try making a journal of everything you eat. It really does work. Starting when you first wake up, in a samll note book , write down eat thing you eat and how many calories you consumed. Each day total up your calories and then reduce the amoutn of calories you ate on an average day by 200 and that should be a calorie amount that you will lose weight on.
Hint- celery has NEGATIVE calories ;)
Make sure you eat a filling breakfasts so that you have energy for the day, try to eat your food early on in the day so that you have a chance to burn it before you go to bed, at night your body takes the excess calories and stores them as fat, so I made a rule that I dont eat after 7 at night.

Laxatives can in fact cause you to lose weight, however this is definitely not the best choice. They cause you to lose too much water from your system...the water weight is actually what you are losing, not fat. This can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. Electrolyte imbalances can be very dangerous, even fatal. If you are looking to lose weight, I would urge you to try something else, specifically a diet and exercise program. Your doctor can offer advice. Good luck!

No but roughage does.

Eat only when hungry and not more than three times a day. Take only water in between.

Chew each morsel at least 32 times for effective functioning of ur natural system of telling u that u have had enough.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve ur ideal weight in a reasonable period effortlessly and permanently.

Laxative will make you lose water and vitamins temporarily and eventually leave you dependant on laxatives (do you really want to be constipated all the time).

Don't take laxatives, they make your colon lazy and you get depended on them. Besides they don't make you lose weight they only empty your bowels.

laxatives are not intended for weight loss. using them in that manner is literally a form of 'drug abuse'.

i highly recommend looking for other 'intended' methods of weight control.
