Hi, i was counting us and canadian money and forgot to wash my hand =S there happened to be a pimple on my face and accidently popped it with my fingers. I know it sounds stupid but could this transmit any type of disease from all the money i was counting that caught on my hand.

Chances are unlikely that you will get a disease, but you certainly exposed yourself to germs and viruses. Hopefully your immune system is strong and will prevent you from getting sick.

Good luck

That's not a stupid question - money, like handrails and doorknobs, are termed 'fomites' in the medical lingo. That means they can carry bacteria on them. They have lots of knooks and crannies for which to protect the bacteria somewhat. The duration of time the bacteria can live is variable - for example, an STD like gonorrhea needs to stay in a moist glob so it doesn't get oxadized and die. Tuburculosis can last for a few days on a sidewalk! The typical skin bacteria that cause acne are on all of us to some degree. For you it just happened to be in a huge pile in one place (blocked follicular pimple I presume). So, sure someone could get an infection from you especially if it's a new bacteria to their skin. As always, wash your hands or use the alcoholic handwashes as frequently as you need to.

Money is very dirty with all the people handling it.I don't think ya have to worry,we all handle money and don't wash our hands every minute, unless you are obsessed.I don't think you will get a disease, you could I guess spread germs like a cold maybe. You will be fine if you are that worried wash your hands everytime you handle money.

Money carries germs, no telling how many people have handled it. Wash your hands regularly.
