How many miles to the gallon would a 1976 VW camper van get?

Between 12 to 15 mpg.
I own one.. and this is what I am getting.

You might get 20 plus miles to the gallon depending on your mileage. This old van will burn oil. Pamper it with synthetics.

depends on how tired the motor is & the terrain. should get 15-20
