My best friend in college was deaf. I did not realize she was deaf at first and talked to her like she was "normal", which of course she was! Most people start to over pronounce their words or talk slower when they encountered her, and that made it hard for her to understand. Anyway, she didn't have any trouble with dating and you won't either--just get out there!

I don't think that just because they have a reputation for infidelity is a reason to label ALL saggitarius. You are who you are and you aren't defined by that. On the other hand if you are the type to live up to the reputation then yeah you'll have a messed up dating and maybe social life. It's more of a moral issue. I would befriend anyone but girl if you are going to date then you should be honest and true. Would you want your boyfriend to be unfaithful to you? If yes then live to that reputation to the fullest, if no then prove the world wrong. On your social life, just being a saggitarius will have no effect, if you live up to the reputation then regardless of your sign people might/will talk about you. In the end it's about YOU not your sign

Of course I would befriend him. I had a really amazing guy friend a while back and he was deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other ear. But he was such a great guy and a awsome friend that I never even noticed.

My boyfriend IS deaf...and a music education major...you do the math! But...to play the devil's advocate...sometimes it can be hard at first to "get over" someone with a disability and really talk to them as an equal. I know that seems kinda strange, but that is my experience. Like, at first, you don't really know what you have in common with them...you can't empathize because you don't REALLY understand their situations...and they don't want your sympathy. So you have to take the time to get to know them well and find that "middle ground".

I dont want to define a person uni-dimensionally. People tend to makeup their disabilities with some other gifts or "behavioral traits". It all depends on what his other gifts or traits are. Because to be a long lasting friend one has to see beyond his disabilities, you can easily sympathize with such person, but you should know his core(and like it) to really stick with him

Well politically and geographically, everyone would have their views, but in all sincerity, this guy is a person just like everyone on this earth and you must not treat him any different, if you feel conscious about what your doing, people with disabilities are used to being treated differently and as sorry as that is to say, and though i disagree with it in principle, they are. So please, if you want to be this persons friend, just be nice and treat him just as you would you other friends and too yourself.

Yes, i would be friend with him. I probably wont consider dating him. But i would take him as a good friend, surely if he is a nice person and not a jerk. I try to communicate with him - emailing, typing, sign-language, phone messaging. I believe we need to give people a chance. Did God not give us a chance to redeem ourselves to believe in Christ despite our dreadful sins? Our sins are imputed on Christ and His righteousness in us. We can spread the love to these "handicaps" and feel the warmth back.
