I see that many people who are considered "top contributors" have a lot less points and are in a lower level than myself. So how do they determine who is considered a top contributor?

Thanks for the comments. From what I've found on the forum, a "Top contributor" is one that based on recent activity is considered knowledgeable. It just seemed strange to see someone with a lower % of best answers get a top contributor designation. So it has no rhyme or reason to it.

I don't know. I think it has to do with the number of questions you answer in the category, or maybe the percent of your answer that are in the category. Maybe has something to do with bast answers, but maybe not. I don't think it has to do with questions.

Hi,

Ya know what? The other day I signed onto
R&S, and the damn thing just appeared there. I had no idea it why it showed up,
and frankly I don't care for it. What possible difference does it make to see that information when you are going to answer a question?

It says,'a top contributor is someone who is knowledgeable in a particular category'.
Put your cursor on the orange tab.

I think it has something to do with recent activity, but not sure how they determine who is put into the category.

I thought it was because I am special. Actually I have no idea why. I was a bit surprised when it came up.

Just kidding, I don't know nor do I care to know how.

Apparently, all you have to do is mock our creator. Sad, sad, sad.
