Both my parents were very sick with the flu the past week. My dad has had it for a week, but is almost 100% better, and my mom has had it for 5 days, and is much better. I've been wearing gloves, hand wash my hands every 10 minutes, mask my face, stay away from them, and dont use same objects as them. Are the precautions im taking good, and now that they are feeling a bit better, can I start to use the same utensils as them?

Also, how long does it stay on contaminated surfaces?

The flu is spread when someone who is contagious sneezes into their hand (or directly on to another surface) and then touches something else. An unsuspecting person then comes along, touches the contaminated surface, and puts their hand on their mouth, eyes, or nose. The virus is then transferred to the other individual.

The best way to avoid flu or colds is to keep your hands off your face and wash your hands often!
