Usually the rule on cream cheese is throw it out 7 days after opening. It usually says that on the tub. So....throw it out!

Frozen, it would probably still be all right to use, although the texture would be different. If it's just been sitting in your refrigerator all that time, however, I'd pitch that sucker faster than you can say, "Salmonella."

A trip to the hospital for food poisoning is a lot more expensive than a tub of cream cheese. Why take a chance?

I'm thinking that the expiry date was June 9th 2006 in which case if it hasn't walked out of the frig itself then you should give it the boot. This is a serious failure to launch.

You are probaly ok if you cut into it and don't use the first 2-3" of it.

I do that; buy in bulk at Costco to save money then end up wasting it and losing money! When I should have just bought 8 oz. blocks at the regular grocery store!

Cream cheese gets hard, kind of yellow looking and smells bad when it isn't any good. If you taste a small piece and it tastes moldy, throw it away. If it tastes like cream cheese, it is fine.
