Hi Danielle

The more literally you follow it, the happier you'll be.

There's a misconception that following God's word takes all the fun out of life, and that God somehow does not want us to be happy or that God wants us miserable.

There's no biblical basis for this. God wants us to experience ever increasing peace, joy, love and wisdom & knowledge.

Jesus said "I come so that you may have life, and have it more abundantly." He wants us to experience all the good things in life, but according to his wisdom.

When we drive our cars, everyone enjoys driving a lot more when everyone drives in compliance with the rules. When people start driving with reckless disregard for the rights and safety of others in violation of the law (driving according to their own will, not the will of the state), then this causes problems for everyone - stress, fear, anger - not happiness.

I find I'm much happier when I am in agreement with God. God made the universe and has a right to make the rules. I'm not at peace when I know I'm operating outside of God's will.

Never stop seeking, never stop learning, never stop thinking. You don't have to be verbally bullied or intimidated by scoffers. I don't let atheists and popular culture do my thinking for me.
Eternity is way too long to trust it to them.

Yes it is, but first of all, what makes you happy? The word is that "if you put GOD first, then everything else will follow". This doesn't mean your life will become a bowl of roses all of a sudden, what it does mean is that in your time of distress, your faith in GOD and JESUS CHRIST will carry you through. Learn to communicate with GOD and lay all your troubles on his shoulders and believe that your problems will be taken care of. That doesn't mean to kick back and say "GOD's going to take care of me". Don't be like that guy stuck on his rooftop during a flood. A boat full of people came by and said " get in " he said "go on, GOD's going to take care of me". Next a helicopter came to take him away and he says "go on, GOD's going to take care of me". anyway, the man drowned and when he seen GOD in heaven, he said,"GOD what happened? I thought you were going to take care of me"? GOD said, I sent a boat and then I sent a helicopter after you". Needless to say, we have to do our part too. If a non- beliver an d a christian were trapped in a mine with no chance for survival, who do you think would suffer the most, even though they're in the same predicament? the non-belivers only hope would be that he was rescued before he perished, but the christian has hope, even after death, because of GOD's promise of everlasting life. If you're having doubts, overcome them and come to GOD. You won't ever regret that decision. I need to add another conception. You must have heard it said that the BIBLE contradicts itself. Well, it's not really a contradiction, it's because GOD, in all his wisdom knows that one solution will not solve all everybody's problems. so what we do is, we go to the part of the word that pertains to us. Simple huh?

Yes. But you do need to study the Bible to find out which verses are to be taken literally and which are not. Jesus called us the salt of the earth but I don't see a bunch of salt shakers walking around....but our conversation is seasoned with salt....allowing people to be "preserved" or "seasoned" with how we present Jesus to them.
