Im studying to get my Bachelors in Civil Engineering Tech in NY. My professors tell me I need to work for 6 yrs before I can get my PE in NY. I was wondering if it is different in Florida...

After you pass the Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) exam (it used to be the EIT), then you have to find a job and work under the supervision of a state licensed PE. You generally have to work about 7 years before you sit for your PE exam.

After you pass the PE exam (in your field of expertise), you are a PE and can get reciprocal licenses in other states.
