I hate the fact that if I leave a truthful comment, they will leave a negative. Ebay sellers suck a@@.

I'm with you. ONce you pay isn't the seller supposed to leave the feedback, you have done your part, paid on time, which is what the feedback is about. What is this that now the sellers keep back the feedback, why should we the buyers have to be positive before they are. Annoys the hell out of me too.

Buyers should always leave feedback first! They are the one to complete the transaction. As a seller, if you leave your feedback then find out the buyer is unhappy and it turns into a huge problem - you might regret leaving feedback that was good. If the buyer is happy - there is no reason the seller should be unhappy. Anyway, a responsible buyer OR seller should resolve any issues they have before leaving negative feedback. That should be a last resort! If the transaction does go a bit sour - I would rather leave no feedback than negative. I've been both a buyer and a seller. I leave feedback as a buyer when I receive the product so the seller knows I received it and I'm satisfied. As a seller, I never leave feedback first - the buyer needs to let me know they are happy.

I know, I hate that! If I pay 3 seconds after I win, what more could you expect from me? Drop a little compliment. And the worst part is it is usually a seller with like 5000 comments on feedback that is being stingy leaving feedback to a buyer with 3 comments. Sux.

I don't buy often but I have had sellers leave feedback right after I paid at least a couple times out of a dozen transactions total at most.

Experienced sellers wait for the buyer's feedback because for a professional seller, unwarranted bad feedback can be a serious business problem. Some idiot who didn't communicate there was a problem, had unrealistic expectations or wants the second coming of Elvis, can tarnish your record and hurt your business. A good seller trys to resolve problems, giving the buyer the benefit of the doubt and being generous with refunds and returns, but waits to give feecback.

Because the proper way is that the buyer(!) must give the feedback first, not the other way around.
