This is the 3rd time I've been on it and I want to eat but am sick of the limited choice of menu.. So I wont eat tonight. Is that the secret to this diet? I'm not complaining as it has helped me to loose 20+ pounds everytime I have used it. Anyone have a simalar experience? "I refuse to give in to carbs, gluten, starch, etc etc. And never will I accept 'hydrodgenated oil, high fructose corn syrup, trans fat, etc.etc. What do you think?

Okay, first of all, do yourself a favor and get off a so-called "diet" and focus on nutrition for life. Carbs are not the enemy. Eating low glycemic foods is the way to go. You can google "low glycemic" and can find wonderful food choices. Atkins is not a long-term solution to health and losing weight. That is not what it was designed for. In my opinion, Mr. Atkins was an idiot! Think "slow carbs, not low carbs". You have the right idea about staying away from hydrogenated oils, trans fats, etc. just take some time and do some research on the glycemic index. Secondly, do not skip meals!!! You are promoting weight gain when you do that. By eating 4, 5, or 6 times a day you are promoting a healthy metabolism and burning fat even when resting. I hope this helps and I am not knocking your weight loss with Atkins but for overall long-term health please stop using it. I wish you good luck.

All I know is that Rosie O'Donnell swears by it. But she's not exactly slender.......

The 3rd time?! So you were what, 60lbs overweight and need to lose more? Or do you keep regaining? If you keep regaining, I'm likely to guess it's not such a successful "diet".

Cutting out a whole food group completely goes against my beliefs, but it does make sense to cut down that food group, which comes in at a whopping 6-11 servings daily, rather than protein and veggies and fruit. But weed out alcohol and junk food first, I say. Do that and get off the sofa and exercise, and you'll be on the right track.

Personally, I like the South Beach diet. More heart healthy with quick weight loss and your breath doesn't stink! More realistic for long term. For me, anyway!
