Common sense... they don't want to deal with the kids. And since they have obligations to the kids, they are not free to come and go when ever, and don't have as much time to spend with the guy. He may not want to compete with the kids for her attention.

I have dated a single mom(she broke it off by cheating on me after we were engaged). Most guys dont date seriously single mothers because they are too immature to deal with the children and the emotional issues sometimes involved with the loss/breakup of the father,by the mother. They are mostly looking out for their ease and comfort.

Some men are not looking for a family and they think by dating a single mom they will be involved in the child's life ..It is asking for a different kind of commitment ..because I good mom will at times want to include her child/children in a relationship ... and many men are not interested in that ... I don't say it is right but you need to be fair as well , they are not responsible for the child ... so you shouldn't just expect them all to want to do it ..think of al the people you would not date for different reasons!! ..try to see both sides .........with all that said they are tons of men who will date a single mom .....keep looking you will find them

One reason is that single moms are just that , a mom . When a woman has children ,men have a hard time sharing that free time with the kids. As it is , most single moms work a lot to provide for their children and time is very limited. I have found that a man should understand there is baggage attached to that pretty lady who seems to be "the one" and needs to understand that she will put her children first, which is a good thing if you are looking for long term commitment as a suitor.

Because they think you are looking for a new dad for your kid. A free ride.
If you are independent and making it on your own then let him know you just want to date and then let it take its course.
I was a single dad for 5 years and I know it scared women even after I told them I wasn't looking for a new Mom just for some friendship. I was also looking in the wrong place (bar).

Im sure they dont want the responsibility of kids, especially ones that arent theres. If I was in your situation I would look for a guy whose mature enough to handle kids and accept you and your children. Maybe even find a guy whose a single dad.

finding a "Man" who has respect for you and especially that your a mother, and your child always comes first is tough. I would try Match.com to find someone in your community. It may take awhile, and who knows, you might find a guy in the same situation. It will be worth it to find the right man for a family. Good Luck, Sherri

single mothers have kids and kids come first, they are not available as often as girls without kids
some mothers are looking for a new daddy for their children and we aren't interested in raising someone else's kids, just looking for a date
and single mother's just come with drama- the baby's daddy and children
there are no complications like this to worry about if there are no children involved

I think you are around 20 yrs old? Right now, guys your age or even a few years older don't want to settle down. If it were their child they'd take the responsiblitiy...because they have to. If they don't HAVE to, they won't. They are still in party mode which involves getting laid, staying up all night and drinking....Wait a couple years...you'll meet the right guy for you and your child.
