It really seems like people go out of their way to have something fantastic in their lives... I mean, they almost appear desperate to latch on to anything that's outside the envelope of reality. They want ghosts or angels or demons or the Lost City of Atlantis - the list is nearly endless - UFOs, miracles, wood nymphs.... You name it and you'll certainly find a freak or two, (or even a thriving religious group), who wants to believe it.

WHY....???

Escape-ism and imagination...where's the harm in it anyways? Does it somehow make your life less enjoyable if someone else believes in faeries, or unicorns, or whatever? Life is tough. There is a lot of crap we all have to deal with on daily basis. The evening news pumps enough reality into our lives...let some folks enjoy letting their imaginations run wild for a while.

I think it's obvious why, because they believe it, and they want you to believe it as well.

Maybe They want something new and exciting in their lives. I don't know. It's not bad unless it drastically changes their life. Otherwise hobbies aren't bad.
