Kids do wrong stuff either our of necessitty(steal a lunch at school or something) or out of boredom. I think more programs and youth leaders would be an awesome step in the right direction. More programs to help with necesitties, and not just 30 year old hand me down garments; I think big companies could start chipping in for tax breaks and donating the food in mislabeled boxes that normally go to the dollar store or the clothes that normally are shipped off to TJ Maxx or Ross or something would give these clothes the items they need to get by in the world and they wouldn't feel embarrassed by having some goodwill clothes or they wouldn't have to starve on the weekends or at night when they're not getting their free meals from the school.

Turning the hearts of the father's back to their children!

Youth activity programs don't work, they just make things worse! We don't need youth programs, we need family programs! Turning back to the Holy Word of God is the only way we're going to reduce any kind of crime rate.

By the way: Public schools aren't doing anybody any good. It's called homeschooling, where the children can learn by their family, not other children bent on foolishness. "Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child..." (From Proverbs, in the Holy Scriptures)

I would change the education system. For example, grades 6 thru 12, boys and girls seperated from each gender and their families. The youth would go into a boot camp type of training/education program year round and get time home according grades and attitude. Parents could come and visit them on weekends. After grade 12 they would have the option of U S Military or college.

Lets face it. There aren't many good parents. Some are work-a-holics, alcoholics, druggies, and lacking in good parenting skills.

To me this gives kids the best chance at life. Get them away from the idiots at home.

I think its stopping the media from corrupting young people with paris hilton (Breeds a ton of drunken sIut pot whores that are complete morons that the world would be better off without) and the gangsta rap crap (causing alot of stupid violence over pointless things and alot of drug use crime and just overall stupidity ie: getting into a fight because somebody bumped into you. gangsta rap culture is the most foolish , moronic, angry, cancer of a "culture" , I personally think of it as a bad attitude more than anything, to ever infect america).
The best way to get younger people (I'm 17 by the way and if I wasnt so indifferent about what most people think of me I would be embarresed to be a part of this generation) to stop being such morons is to get rid of these peice of crap role models who contribute nothing to society like paris hilton, 50 cent, linsey loin, and britney spears and replace them with somebody who is worth a damn and isnt a complete peice of crap. It used to be you had to have some special talent to be famous now you just have to be a drunken sIut if your a girl or an angry punk who will get into fights for nothing and rap about how hard your life is and how many girls your banging.
O ya and teach parents to dicipline their kids and teach them right from wrong. Parents these days don't care what their kids do or are just to weak to actualy do something about it. Parents in general this generation are pathetic. Mainly due to the liberal attitudes with the whole "oh no dont spank your child because it hurts" children at young ages arent very bright and guess what alot of the time they wont understand why something is wrong and the only way to stop them from going down that slippery slop of wrong doings , that can lead to drug use and crime, is to make them stop quickly and a good way to do that is to remind them that if they break the rules its going to hurt. It may not be all nice and happy but guess what little kids understand that way better than actualy being explained the reason why what they are doing is wrong as alot of the time it either goes in one ear and out the other or they simply cant comprehend it. So people stop being such wimps , spank your kids and keep them away from peices of crap like paris hilton and 50 cent.

I believe that we teach our children right from wrong & hope that they make the right decisions, as we as parents can not always be there making sure they make the correct choices.

And since most crimes children commit are out of rebellion I believe that if the parents are to strict it causes more reasons to rebell. Parents need to talk to their children & treat them like people, not dictate the home & overrule them like they don't have mind of their own.

Emphasis on raising kids to be better people. Otherwise, get parents to actually do their job. Stop sitting kids in front of a TV and expecting them to be people when they grow up.

Other-if parents ate their young like in the wild kingdom the problem would be solved!

Seriously.....more responsible parenting and holding the parents responsible. The police are not there to make your kid go to school. PARENTS need to be parents!

i totally agree about the corporal punishment. I think a good paddling on a bare wet bottom would work wonders, and not do to much damage, but really get the message across
