A guy goes to a doctor and says, "doctor, it hurts when I do this." The doctor says, "stop doing that."

That joke works if its something like alcohol or carbonated beverages your drinking but if it's just stuff like water then you need to get to the doctor ASAP. A visit to a local clinic may only cost you like $50-$100 and may save your life.

I assume you're talking about drinking alcohol. Why not stop drinking? Seriously, you should see a doctor. I don't know of anything on the left side of the stomach per se that would give you pain. Some people refer to any place in the digestive tract as the stomach. It could be something in the intestines or upper abdomen, such as the gall bladder or a duodenal ulcer. The only way to be sure is to see a doctor. In the meantime, quit drinking if that's what brings on your discomfort .

Your pancreas is just behind your stomach on the left, some people have an attack pancreatitis after excessive alcohol consumption. I would stop drinking alcohol if you have the pain after drinking. I would also consider getting it checked out now rather than waiting until you are in acute distress.

Traditionally it is stated that the pain of pancreatitis is relieved by bending forward. Although if it is pancreatitis, it could become chronic (symptoms persist after cause has been removed ie. alcohol or medication).

Might be a stomach ulcer.

You can have a doctor check it out for you if you are concerned. And you can buy health insurance if you want that too. Jobs that give you discounts on insurance take that money from your pay, so you're really paying for it anyway. So not having insurance is a choice you make yourself.
