it was when I left my own country that I was able to get better perspective on the lives of others and how difficult life can be for some people, but usually, those who we label as having hard lives are the happiest people you will ever meet.

I tend to be the "odd ball", but I am Born Again and travelled extensively.
I do question my sources, but always try to consider the other point of view.
I have friends of all "Persuations" (in every form) because I do not let my faith be a stumbling block between us. I try to honor the commandment to love God with all I am, as well as my neighbor.

Sorry you've had such bad experiences ... I know I have too from some Born Agains.

The problem is very simple, born again people are those who don't accept death, so they try to find a way to continue this life, because they are afraid to die, of course there's nothing else after this life, there is ignorance all over the planet earth, once a person start to read the bible, the whole world stops around, it's only what the bible says, so there is where ignorance begins to dig in..☺

I agree... I don't think these people have left their local church tea room never mind the country. God forbid they may run into a terrorist, a homosexual or worse... the devil. Sorry if I sound stereo-typical myself, but I am yet to find a person to who will make me question my views (and believe me it would be refreshing to meet that person just to prove religion isn't such a farce!). The only ones leaving there god-bearing homes are the worst of the lot... Evangelists. (I wish they'd stop preaching and forcing their unnecessary guilt onto others!!)

Well I'm Jewish and I've been out of the country plenty of times. I've been to Ireland twice and have been a student ambassador to England and France. I am going to Israel this summer, and have been all over the western half of the United States. By stereotyping all religious people you're being as close minded as they are.

I am fairly well traveled. In the past 3 years I have been to the UK 3 times, France once, South America 2 times, Mexico 2 times. I have also been to both coasts of the US and several other states. Of course I am an atheist. Does this mean anything?

While it is wrong to broadly generalize any group and there probably those in this group who don't fit this description my experience so far is in agreement with yours. I still try to judge each individually without leaping to conclusions but I've yet to be pleasantly surprised. I have met a couple who had been out of the country converting people in third world countries in exchange for much needed assistance.

So what's your question?

you must be one of those professional persecutors to ask such dumb of a question. may i see your credentials?

i keep my mind open to everything that's worth an open mind and so far, it seems that the faith of Christ is the only one. I've tried other methods but nothing filled the void like my savior.
