Well I am a catholic & many of my ideologies I am told boarder on heresy.

But here it goes.

Modern "Christians" (Protestants) like to focus on the 33 years of Christ life, or more specifically the several years prior to his crucifixion.

They sort of gloss over the apx. 8 thousand years of jewish history and tradition that make up the "old testament'.

Why?

In the new testament Jesus Christ teaches a message of love and acceptance.

However in the old testament god demanded sacrifice and absolute adherence to his laws for the jewish race. Infractions where met with horrific plagues, assignations, wars, etc.

What you are confused about is how do christians rectify the message of the old with the message of the new?

Basically they tend to ignore the old testament until a conversation pops up where they can condemn someone for their non-christain beliefs.

God doesn't hate anybody. You need to read into something before you believe or accuse something that you actually have no idea about.

God loves everybody equally, but we were put on this earth for a purpose and he put us here, So there for humans denying his existance ins't something he likes or agrees with, That doesn't mean he hates them. Their sinners just like christians, nobody is perfect but he still loves you regardless of what you say/do or believe in.

I'm 16 years old and I know this... Come on now!!!

God does not hate anyone even people now who are sinning. He loves everyone, he may not like the sin people live in but God loves all people. That's why he prepaped the Kingdom of heaven for us to have for eternity. He loves us that much that he gave his only son to die on the cross for our sins. Does that sound like a God that hates, not to me at all. He took the stripes that he was slashed for every person on this earth for healing also. He does give us a choice to either serve him or to serve the devil. He loves us so much that he gave us a choice. I know the choice I have made is to serve God.

I used to be a Christian and I wasn't aware of any biblical text that stated God hated anyone. Of course that doesn't mean that he won't destroy all non-believers - after torturing them first of course (hypothetically speaking here). You mustn't assume that all those atheist-hating christians are representative of what God allegedly taught. As Gandhi said "if it wasn't for the example set by most Christians, more people would live their lives according to Christ" - something like that.

Iff

God=all loving

atheist + X(individuals)=all

then God loves all.

What part of the logic don't you get?

Or are you asking this in a moral sense, as in, if Christians preach love, why do they hate?

Obviously you have a contradiction, so you can either choose to ignore it, stand up to it, or let people make mistakes because we are all human.

Oh GOD defiantly does not hate Atheist
Believe me. I would be anywhere but Yahoo Answers R&S If I was not led by the Spirit of GOD.
Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

He hates no one. He sent Christ as a way to cleanse us of our sins and have a simple way into the Kingdom of Heaven.
By not putting their faith in Jesus, They are not allowing the Holy Spirit to fill them, and cleanse them of their sins. The Lord can not allow a heart that is full of sin into the Kingdom of God, For sin corrupts.

It breaks the Lord's heart to send people to hell, they did not hear him when he spoke to their soul and called them to follow him.
But what is the point of Heaven if it is the same as the earth?

He hates your sins and wants you to repent and get right with Him.
Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
2 peter 3:9b - He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

God doesn;t hate anyone, it is christianity who hates the idea of people who do not share the same belief as their own, saying that it is the word of their own god, instead of their own personal opinions.
