If a guy you have known for years & has always been so good to you & whether you were single or not always done everything he could to help you & show he cared while respecting when you were in a relationship & all that. If you knew he wasnt good at opening up or expressing his feelings to you & again you have been friends even intimate for like 13 years or so & one day you complaint to him about how soon it will only be you & your two children & how alone you are often feel & off track in your heart you have been for a long time. TO which he replies 'You always have me" & when you say "I love how you have always been so good to me why are you so good to me." & He says because I care & your my friend. What would you think?

LOL ok interesting responses. Shortly after we started reconnecting & even before she knew I she was soon to be single again she asked me about if I was going to settle down have kids & buy a home to which I said I wish. As for the time I never hide my feelings for her & everyone else would tease us both about it but its hard when you arent good at opening up to know what to do when at parties she will introduce him as a bf then to another group just as a good friend... I admit my faults even insecurities but again I never hid anything from her & always thought that in the end especially with her past of hurt that actions would speak louder then words. She even when in a relation will hint or come off as sort of settling which I guess plays into why she never seems happy after a while but I dont know. By the way I did actually admit things & even that I didnt think she felt the same but that I just wanted her to finally be happy & share her time even as just friends but nada LOL.

dude 13 years? If you are both single stop wasting your life away.
Tell her you like her. Tell her you want to date her.
Man tell her something.

I would think especially after being intimate and you standing on the side lines while everything else was taking place and to still be able to say that she's got you i would think that the joy of my life had been staring me in my face all this time and i didn't know that he cared this much for me and this is my knight in shining Armour because he's always been right here for me no matter what I've done.

Whoever this guy is, he needs to tell her how he really feels about her! She left the ball in his court when she asked why he's so nice to her. Don't let her slip away; she'll end up with someone else-- again.. He'll never have a chance with ANY decent woman if he is afraid to be himself and be honest.

.I think you have a wonderful friend. As far as having her for a mate I'm not sure. Her answer sounds like she might not be ready for a commitment.Maybe you should sit with her and get her to clarify things for you. She is really the only one that can.

Good Luck

exactly what he said. he is my friend and nothing more. it's been so long and if he never made any move to deepen our relationship, then it is hopeless. maybe i'm waiting for nothing.and maybe what he really feels for me is just a friend, a true friend and nothing deeper.

That you were my friend and you were there for me. There's a reason she's not dating you slick, and it isn't because of bad grammar and run on fragments.
