I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking if you can "will" yourself to forget something? I'm not sure about that, but I do know that people do tend to forget particularly traumatic events in their lives particularly when they happen at an early age. There is a phenomenon where the brain will shut down and not allow a person to remember past events that may have been too painful. But, as far as self-hypnosis to forget something purposefully, I'm not sure you can do that.

Only if you experience a trauma a mental one Why would anyone want to self induce amnesia bad childhood perhaps? Take care of yourself & seek help if the memories get worse

i'd be quite interested in what you find out. i lost the first 15 years of my memory, and to my knowledge, had no mental or physical 'traumatic events' that would cause it.
