I'm not quite as fervent in my opposition as you are, but I agree that the whole "top contributor" is a BAD idea - and stupid. This site is already filled with enough egotists, and they don't need to be patted on the back to further their self-gloating!

I agree with you that its ridiculous but think it not a fair comparrison with nazi germany,
the nazis and historic muslim governments would make the minorities wear the arm badge as a means of seperation,
this top contributor thing seems just to be a bs way of making us want to do answers more
hell im already on here 5 hours a day

Reminds me of the "star-bellied Sneechs vs. the Sneechs w/out stars" in that old Dr. Suess book (can't remember the name) There was this character who profited off the "Sneechs" by charging either to put on or take off stars on their bellies..........HMMM........

Personally I don't see that it makes any difference, but if it makes some people happy, great. What harm can it do anyone? Do you feel badly at not being one? Because it is really meaningless.
