According to my Jeep Catalog, it's a YJ. Yes the 350 Chevy engine will fit but be prepared to make a lot of modifications. There are several companies that sell the conversion kits to simplify the job somewhat. Unless you're a pretty good mechanic, don't try it.

94 is a YJ. Yes you can put a Chevy engine in it. Do a search on Jeep forums and Jeep magazines to find info. Try and find a local Jeep club in your area, someone probably has done a similar engine swap and could give you some pointers.

It is a YJ model & yes a Chevy motor will fit in it. Look up Advanced Adapters on the web because they carry a wide range of motor mounts, transmission adapters, and wiring adapters to make this a virtual bolt in project. A weak point you will run into is that the Dana 35 rear axle you have is not strong enough to handle V8 power. A stronger rear axle such as a Dana 44 or a Chrysler 8.8 would be a stronger choice and should be easy to find a width to match your current size.

CJ's were last produced in 1986. The YJ also known as the "Yuppie Jeep" can be modified to fit just about any GM engine and transmission into the thing. Lots of aftermarket parts as well.

Wranglers are YJs and small block Chevy swap are simple and common with advance adapters kits. It's a project but can be done relatively easy

If you have the 4.0 straight 6 engine, you should stay with it.. It is a great engine in a wrangler. If you have the 4cyl.. then you already know that it can hardly get out of it's own way.. There is a turbo kit available for the 6 if you have to do mud, but otherwise the straight 6 is great and I would keep it.

Yes, must usual is the SBC 350.
I'm in the process of doing it, moved the engine + auto tranny + transfer, 350+TH400+205, with stock diffs, rear shaft is coming quite short.
