I have a chicken that lays brown eggs. Recently all of her eggs have had deposits of round lumps on the narrow end. I can't imagine that feeling too good.

It's possible that your chicken is getting too much calcium, which is then deposited on the shell of the developing egg.

A calcium deficiency will result in weak, thin shelled eggs. Excess calcium will result in thick, bumpy eggs (which are less likely to hatch, as the chick has to work harder to break the shell).

Don't put calcium in the chicken food. Have a dish of oyster shells or equivalent calcium supplement available, but separate from the regular food. Chickens will eat what they need.

Im sorry I merely ought to assert this you do no longer want a fowl! era. Plus, with 3 hens, except he's an old timer, he would be to difficult in them interior the breeding season. you will need approximately 12 hens to a minimum of one roo. in spite of if, i will say that in case you have the flexibility to extend your flock, then a fowl will upload unity and stability on your flock. you will locate the hens happier, greater healthy and that they'll combat much less. by way of this, those hens with roos do tend to place greater consistently, yet no longer adequate to warrant a unstable undertaking in case you won't have the capacity to have a roo by way of zoning, or buddies. or you are able to mushy enhance your flock. additionally provide up feeding them overwhelmed egg shells. no remember what you pay attention!! you're coaching them to love and choose for the style of eggs. era. instead use oyster shell extra into their corn. you besides mght want be feeding them a lay mash standard. you are able to supplement the lay mash with corn or scratch yet they want lay mash. Lay disintegrate is wonderful too. they're youthful yet and merely doing what youthful hens do. additionally, climate could have a hand to play in egg laying consistency besides on the time of year. you will in all risk see the hens lay greater desirable and greater consistently interior the spring (in particular due on your region and their age), yet interior the propose time, you will see them start up and supply up yet with fewer and shorter provide up circumstances. they'll slack off in wintry climate by way of shorter days. that's thoroughly standard. i myself have seen my hens get truly sturdy as layers at approximately 7 to eight months in spite of if this numerous between breeds of hens. besides as time of year/season that they hit egg laying adulthood. desire this facilitates you out! as far by way of fact the egg white factor is going, do no longer panic over that, you have have been given a case of a chicken layed a normal egg on the floor. completely standard in view that they're youthful. different then which you have a great set up for 3 spoiled hens!
