Hoping for answers especially from Christians who subscribe to the Prosperity Gospel (God is the source of wealth, if you're rich it's because what you do pleases him, he really wants you to be rich, etc.), and please quote all the chapter-and-worses you can find to back up your story!

God had nothing to do with their wealth one way or the other - except that they used their time wisely instead of wasting it idly in a church, and they won't be wasting their money by donating it to greedy churches.

Life its self is sufficient to try all people who are born on this earth some are born with great success others with very humble existences. It would make you really wonder how many hungry people would be fed forever if the 1000 richest people on earth were to give 10% of what they had to feed the hungry. God has given us the charge to feed my sheep. That is more than just to teach them the Gospel, it has many different meanings. God is no respecter of persons he cares not if your rich, poor good looking or ugly. He just judges you by what is in your heart. If your not willing to give some of your excess to keep your neighbor from starving to death I am sure you will be judged upon where your treasure was. Is it in your money or in your heart. In my church we have fast Sunday once a month. The money you spend upon the two skipped meals is then given to the Bishop of your local church who then provides for those in need in his church the excess then goes to what we call a stake. (several different local church's) to help those in the local area where one church may not have had enough to cover its needs then on to the head office that sends the money to those stakes who have need of more than they collect. (Like in Ethiopia and South Africa.) I think if every one on earth would do such a thing hunger would not be a problem, there would still be poor people but none who starved to death.

If you have ever been to a funeral, you will know that money and materail things can not be taken with you in the afterlife.

Look at how Jesus lived when he walked his fleshly body here on earth. At one point , he even said, he had no where to lay his head.

One day a tax was needed and his followers got that from the mouth of a fish.

variety a million - claiming there are some wealthy persons who're atheists (a declare you have have been given slightly project verifying, BTW - i'm particularly particular the three people you named does no longer declare to being atheists) is a fallacy of advantageous judgment once you are trying translating that into the fact "maximum atheists are sensible, wealthy and effectual" As "maximum" atheists could be certain - on a similar time as they could be "sensible" and particularly a number of them could additionally be "effectual" it particularly is a diverse truism that in the time of basic terms a number of them are "wealthy" in element of certainty, the percentages of millionaires who could declare a non secular association is probable a similar because of the fact the final-inhabitants proportion. as nicely, as all those "sell your soul to the devil" memories could advise - getting wealthy is definitely no longer the sign of God's reward . Your point of intelligence supplies atheists a bad popularity.

I hate how so many condescend to us Christians with their sarcastic replies.

To answer your question: I do not believe God has anything to do with thier business success. God has given us all gifts. Whether we choose to glorify Him with them or not is our choice. He does not interfere with us here on earth. Who cares who has the most money for 80 or so years here? I'd rather have the eternal richness of knowing HIM.

If someone is praying to God for prosperity here on earth, they have problems!

He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Matt 5:45 (NIV)

Is that good enough?
God sends the blessing- Gates and Buffet just capitalized on it.

These people got rich because of the goods and services that their companies provide to the masses... it was nothing to do with any mystical god... it was probably more to do with the FACT that they have their heads grounded in REALITY and not MYTH :-)

They got rich because they were good businessmen.

Plus, their minds are strong enough to run without a boss like "God"- they ARE their own bosses :)
