Loving yourself is when you take care of yourself and do things for you that you might do for others and neglect doing for you.
It is taking care of all of your basic needs and then a little extra that makes you feel better such as buying yourself a treat that you have wanted.......you know it's sort of hard to explain....either you get it or you don't.

If this is something one is trying to achieve after continuous self destruction or self loathing... it is anything but "natural" to love yourself. Initailly, it takes a consciece effort... a decision...on a daily..and sometimes moment to moment basis... after years of anything but loving myself, I have learned that once you have determined an "unlovely" view of yourself, it becomes so familiar...so natural, to disrespect yourself, or think that what YOU feel...or what YOU need, or want... is unimportant - vicious cycles of behaving with that mindset confirm...over and over again... that you are worthless - And the truth is, You're not, you're valuable, but it's nearly impossible to see. it takes a decision...then acting on it, practicing self respect daily...what it means to me is asking myself (when situations present themselves) What is my motive behind this decision, or what will happen as a result of my (fill in the blank), those types of things. This is a hard question because everyone is so different. There are SO many ways to "not love" yourself. loving myself, personally, has been a process...involving lots and lots of CHANGE, most of it's mental...believing that I am "worth it" and acting exactly that way.
Real quick, sometimes you have to be careful with the whole "self acceptance" journey, for example, if you arent happy with your weight, you can A. work out and develop healthy eating habits, or B. Starve yourself and live on diet pills, diuretics, laxitives...you get the point. One solution says " I care about myself enough to develop discipline, to "change"....because I'm worth it, while the other says.... "I don't care about myself, I just wanna be thin" ...this would be the easy way out -
Everyone is valuable, no question about it - Everyone is deserves the best. No one will ever be perfect, and trying to achieve perfection is a Waste of precious life.....
Loving yourself = true happiness, contentment, peace.

i love myself. to me that is accepting myself for good and bad and being o.k. with it. not beating yourself up, feeling sorry for yourself or constantly blaming others for your downfalls. learning something about yourself and identifying positive attributes. if you do have some negatives that are not sociably acceptable be open to change.
