i bought a new straightener. its conair and its almost the same as the last one i bought except its wider.

My hair stylist told me that the width of the straightener doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is what the straightener is made out of. (What material the plates (the thing that gets hot) are.)

The actual width of the flat-iron really makes no difference to anything at all.

Want to reduce damage, use a thermal protectant and get regular haircuts to keep the split-ends under control

it dosen't matter the size of the straightener. The different width of the straightners is for the type of hair you have like thin or thick hair. The more thicker hair you have the more width you should get for a straightner.

to prevent damage from straighteners, you should apply a silicone based hair serum on wet hair and then blow dry. it makes your hair shinier and less damaged and frizzy, no matter what the size of your straightener is.

i think it is all pretty much the same. because even with a one and a half inch, you are going the same areas, just faster. so it really shouldnt do any more damage!

i dont think it matter how much wider the straighter is, so ur hair doesnt get more damaged!

you should have gotten a better brand. i sdont think it makes a difference.
