I guess I would need to know what a radical ecologist is, and what a religious fundamentalist is, since everyone would have their own definition.
I am a member of the committee on the environment of a leftist political party. But I don't consider myself to be very radical. I am also an evangelical pastor. But I don't like the term fundamentalist with its present day connotations of extreme separatism and legalism. (I am a "fundamentalist" according to its original meaning in the early 1900's, of adhering to the fundamentals of the Christian faith).
I believe man has been established with a responsibility for the planet earth, and we have done a pretty poor job of it.
So, I don't know if that sheds any light on the matter, because I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for.

They are both religions that contain zealots, they both have a rigid dogma, and both claim unquestionable authority. Any who question thier authority will face a bitter and intense attack.
