You should freeze them instead and then defrost them when you want to use them. That is a better way to store them. They keep for a long time that way.

If it is fresh chicken breast and you are not going to eat it for a few days I suggest putting it in the freezer. That way you can thaw it and cook it whenever you want. Putting it in a container was a good idea. I wouldn't use it more than a day past it's sell by date. Also keep it in the cooldest part of the fridge. See ya

Once you break the seal on the package, the expiration date no longer applies. They will keep in the frig for maybe 3 days. As the previous person said, wrap each chicken breast in some freezer wrap, then put them all in a freezer bag and keep them that way in the freezer. Then you can just remove one breast the night before you want to use it and let it thaw in the frig overnight, or do a quick thaw in your microwave.

If the chicken is raw, then it should be cooked no more than 2 days after the "best buy" date.
If you don't have plans to eat it within those 2 days then cook it and store it for up to 3 days after it's cooked.
If the chicken is frozen, then it's good for up to 3 months past the "best buy" date.

Chicken spoils pretty fast especially if its left in the fridge for a few days. It only takes a couple days to spoil. You'll know when its bad because it smells aweful.

Raw chicken (thawed) should last about two, three days tops. Don't eat it past three days. Give it a sniff too... rotting chicken has an unmistakable odour.
Freeze em next time!

The expiration date is the last day the store can sell the item, but you should be good for a couple days after that.

cook it or freeze it. Regardless of expiration date, chicken goes slimey, and you will not want to eat it!
