"Do unto others as you would have them do to you."

"Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, that you do to me."

Nuff said.

To my knowledge, Jesus did not speak about homosexuals. But, based on what I see him doing in his life I'm sure he would not have treated them cruelly. Homosexuals are people just like the rest of us. The fact that they prefer a person of the same sex over a person of the opposite sex is not an issue. The issue for Christians is that the Bible does clearly state that to practice homosexuality by actually having physical relationships with a person of the same sex is sinful. As a Christian myself, I do not believe that practicing homosexuality is any worse of a sin than any other. In regards to the rights of homosexuals however, my only problem is with the right to marry via a religious ceremony. To me that is disrespectful to God. If two people wish to join together for the benefit of finances, estate planning, medical decisions etc. I think they should have that right regardless of whether or not I agree with their sexual choices. But, it should not be classified as a marriage. It should be classified only as a civil union of two individuals. Otherwise, the union would be a direct affront to God.

Hi.

Here Jesus sums it all up:

(Matthew 22:36-37) 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’

So if we Love Jehovah completely, we would strive to obey Him, correct?

Then we as followers of Christ (Christians) would obey God and follow Jesus example.

There are many scriptures that talk about homosexuality, they all explain God's view.

There are many scriptures that show that Jesus associated with those deemed "Low" by society....(tax collectors, Harlots, lepers etc...... WHY??

Again, the Bible explaines with Jesus words being recorded here:

(Luke 5:30-32) . . .: “Why is it YOU eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31 In reply Jesus said to them: “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but those who are ailing do. 32 I have come to call, not righteous persons, but sinners to repentance.”

Notice the key???? Jesus wanted those who were doing things against God to do what????

Repent! Look up the definition of repent, and all will be clear about Jesus way of treating those who were sinners.

He said that homosexuality is a sin, and that sin is wrong. But stealing, lying, etc. is also sinning, and we have all sinned. So no, Jesus was not cruel to homosexuals, He just said that they were sinning. Think about it, if Jesus hated everyone who sinned, then He would hate everyone on Earth. But since He is a loving, merciful God, as long as admit to our sins and accept Him, He forgives us and cares for us. Hope this helps!

I don't believe Jesus was cruel to anyone but He was strong on the laws given to Moses through God and it says a man shall lie down with a woman etc

I do not think he would have been cruel to anyone but I do thing he would agree with it. King James said that Jesus was homosexual to justify his gayness. He said that Jesus had his John therefore he can have his George -

Cant say I agree with that tho.....

No, Jesus never said a word about homosexuals.

The Christians get their anti-gay rhetoric from the OT and from some of Paul's writing's.

I believe that because Jesus never spoke out against homosexuals. I believe that he loved them and loves them just as he does everyone else. I find it strange that even the Bible can not agree on this. That Paul would so condemn it, but the son of God does not.

I don't believe he hated them. If he did, then God does, and I was always taught that God loves everyone unconditionally. Jesus died for ALL of us, not just straight people. And this is probably the reason our government is as screwed up as it is.

no he wasn't cruel. You obviously don't know know a thing about Jesus. He loved everyone even the people who murdered him. He asked God to forgive him. I wish more people in this world thought like him. He taught peace and if everyone thought like him this world would be peaceful too.

Since Jesus was a Jew,even though he would not have been cruel to them,He would have thought that homosexuality was sinful.
