I'm reading it at the moment. It's interesting and may prompt you to search for other scriptures besides the 4 main gosples in the New Testament.
I don't want to give anything away about the books main theme in case you haven't read it, but it kind of questions and puts forward certain theories, mostly about the doubtfull Catholic church's doctrines and dogmas which have led to it's historical power. Personally, I already had my doubts way before I picked it up but I'm in no way saying this book is in anyway proof of that.
Best thing is for you to read it and draw your own conclusions....and keep in mind it's fiction with a certain amount of fact incorporated.

I'm glad u asked. It is a hoax that was perpetrated in the 60's by a British fellow and some friends who decided to make up a prank, and they have fooled milllions. 60 minutes did an expose on it, and uncovered the fallacy. I read the book before the expose and it's easy to see it is a bunch of lies, so I decided to use it to prop up the window in my bedroom. I'm glad I could find a purpose for it.
