Apparently, they need someone else to tell them - otherwise, there would be no need for the Ten Commandments or the Bible.

Fortunately, atheists have figured out how to be good and not kill people WITHOUT all that religious mumbo-jumbo. We don't depend upon a sadistic, killer God who commands his followers to hurt and kill others to tell us what is moral.

Hello mygodwhathen

Christians have opinions and ideas just like you.
Sometimes we seek the advice of those who are more mature in the faith than ourselves.
And we consult God's word. Who better to consult?

Have you never in your life consulted anyone for their opinion?
Is this the same thing as having them decide for you?

Before I believed (I certainly was not raised in church) I determined what was right and wrong for me, without regard for anyone else. If everyone did this, there would be chaos because we all have different opinions.

I realized that God made the universe, therefor He has the right to make the rules. I decided on my own, without anyone telling me, to set aside my desire to do my will and do His will instead.
This was a freewill decision.

I never gave up thinking. I never gave up wondering, or asking. I did not forsake my brain or my desire to learn.

To answer you, I must separate Christians from Catholics, only because they are at opposite ends of the spectrum on this matter. Catholics indeed have their rules about opinions, mainly that only the Pope's opinion counts.

But for the rest of us ....

I consult with a pastor when I can't find the answer myself within Scripture. I don't necessarily have to listen to what he or she says, I may disagree with their views on whatever the issue is. But wouldn't it be rather foolish to seek the advice of someone trained in field then NOT at least give it careful consideration?

And sure, we can have our own opinions; many times people are focused on one aspect or another and see everything through that one tiny lens. We are human afterall :)

We consult the Bible. Its pretty clear on what is Right and what is Wrong. It is the world that is messed up about this. Not real Christians....theBerean

Hmm, back in Biblical times, the equivalent of a Pastor or priest would examine the entrails of a goat to answer that!

i became a Christian from early adolescence to early adulthood. And particularly, it truly is a e book written by technique of many adult males who declare to have a connection with "God". regardless of the truth that the Bible could look like it truly is the perfect source of understand-how, it truly is BS. It became purposely written to weaken the minds of human beings as a way to mind Wash. What added me out of the confusion became praying to an imaginary "Santa Claus like being" without result, until eventually i realized something... HE would not EXIST!!!

Every Christian should read the whole bible and know the ten commandments, then they will know if something is wrong.

They shouldn't have doubt, but it is by fatih that they believe in it. If they have struggles in their life to do what is morally acceptable, then that would be the reason for fellowships, and building the strengths of one another up. i.e. problems caused by anger, lack of love, judgemental thoughts, etc...

But generally, through logic it is obvious to do what is right and not wrong, but through fellowships, revealling inward discomforts we can overcome them.
