Anorexia means a loss of appetite and this isn't one of the adverse effects of Nexium. Diarrhea is often due to irritation of the GI tract, especially the lower small intestine and the colon. But it's also an adverse effect of Nexium. There may be something else going on besides GERD. I suggest you report this to your phsyician. By the way, there ARE no serious side effects to Nexium, only less common ones.

It maybe a side effect of the nexium. I found this info for you. Hope you feel better....
Headache, diarrhea, nausea, gas, stomach pain, constipation, or dry mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: chest pain, severe stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, black stools, yellowing of the eyes/skin, signs of vitamin B-12 deficiency with long-term (over 3 years) treatment (e.g., unusual weakness, sore tongue, numbness or tingling of the hands/feet).

When I get diarrhea after a meal it's becasue the food I have just eating is not sitting well with my body. My body's trying to wake way for it to get out fast.
But having it often recently...hmmm. Has your diet changed or are you eating several unhealthy meals in a day?

See a doctor. It could be anything from an aortic embolism or stomach tumor to colitis. Don't mess around with this sort of thing.

you could have an intestinal virus. I just got over one, and I could barely stay off the toilet for two whole days while I had it.
