In contrast to what many ignorant people think, water is not "created". It is merely RECYCLED (via evaporation, condensation, etc.). Believe it or not, the water we drink now did exist since the beginning of life. It can be purified, but the basic elements still exist.
The legend of a universal, worldwide flood, as in the Genesis account, might be an interesting myth with spiritual significance; however, it did not happen in reality. There is no source of sufficient water to produce a world-wide flood that covered the highest mountains. Even if it did happen, there is no place to which the flood waters could subside.

What's your question? Is there not enough water for you to ask a question?

1. It is never wise to refer to people who disagree with you as "ignorant".
2. We often call our planet "the blue planet" because most of its surface is water. I don't know how deep the oceans were at the time of the flood. It could well be that all that water wore away at the earth's surface, forming the dips that became our oceans, thus making the water go down. There must have been tremendous upheavals on the earth's surface as well, causing many new mountains. I wonder if that was when the continents were separated (just speculaitng here). In any case, I don't see anything to concern me about the amount of water involved.
The real problem is do you want to believe it or do you want to disbelieve it. Those who believe the Bible account are looking at the evidence subjectively. Those who reject the Bible account are looking at the evidence subjectively as well. We just need ot choose what we will allow to colour our interpretation of the evidence, I guess.
I think the fact that there is a flood account of some kind or another among primitive people of all continents, points to the fact that there must have been a universal flood, or that they all originated from the same place, carrying the story of the flood with them. (I vote for both).

The Flood was a local one between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in the area of actual Iraq. Stories of the flood are documented in a great number of cultures. Remember that the concept of the world or the Planet are very different between today and those days.
I ask a similar question a month ago.
The Earth of those days is very similar to the Earth of today and if the poles and all the water from the glaciers melted the sea level will rise no more than 40 feet.
A little mathematics.

to cover the great Earth? no longer interior the way Noah's flood is defined. I could remark approximately this: nicely, theoretically, one drop of water ought to cover the great planet in case you unfold it skinny sufficient. it is does no longer be authentic - it may be below some molecules in step with sq. mile maybe (a guesstimation). truthfully, the evidence factors to the water that shaped the Black Sea breaking interior the direction of the Straits there being the probably source of the story of the flood - no longer a worldwide flood.

Try checking out what science has to say about that. In fact if all the water on earth and in the air were combined it would cover the whole earth, even the highest mountain. Also with very few exceptions evidence has been found that most places have been covered with water at some point. A lot of different theory's are out there on that one but as far as us Christians are concerned we know how and when it happened. A lot of the water is still stored in the north and south poles as well as under ground in rivers and lakes.

You think all the water in existence is on the surface of Earth? Have you never heard about the water contained in clouds, in outer space, etc.? And you have never even hard of evaporation? You come on here acting like you know something, and then show your lack of intelligence by your rant.
The flood was universal, and there is evidence of it all over the planet. The problem lies with the fact that you people refuse to believe any and all evidence provided to you.

Also, if all that extra water were to suddenly appear in clouds over our heads, the increase in air pressure would crush the life out of every living creature on the planet.
A wooden ark would save no one.

Hmm, it seems most people here don't understand basic physics, geology, or even math. It's amazing the US isn't a third-world country since its education system is this bad.

The water has been on earth since creation. If the poles were to melt, we would all get wet. The only dry places would be in the mountains.
Speaking of mountains, they were not always as high as they are now. Most all mountains have remains of marine fossils on them, except for those covered with lava. Wonder how they got there?
Time to re-think your world view.

I presume that you have calculated not only the world's oceans and rivers, lakes and streams, but also the density of the world's polar caps which aren't just a few feet thick you know, and also the snows that cover the mountains and the clouds themselves?
