works grate when turned on but then 5 to 10 min go by it will start flashing green then it will come and go till it just stay all green can some one help please

The green picture tube's cathode is touching the heater.....it makes the green flash....TOO MUCH green and the TV senses too much current flowing and shuts off power....Then you have to turn it on again.....
Time to replace the GREEN CRT.....and Sony has a better CRT design by now.....That's just what the Sony Engineers do....they IMPROVE their models.

The green pic tubes Cathode is touching the G1, except for that Reggieman is correct !Cheers Pete
PS Nearly forgot ! if you tap the tube neck with handle of screwdriver you may be able to dislodge the short, it falls into the tube neck out of harms way . I have done heaps over the years as I am sure Reggieman has .
