Cancer is a possibility, but the weight loss could also be a sign of thyroid problems, diabetes, or a number of other problems. She certainly needs to see a doctor and have some tests to find out what the problem is and get treatment.

You are right to say that one of the cancer symptoms is weight loss. But, weight loss does not necessarily mean cancer right away. It can be a whole lot of reasons.
To know for sure, accompany her to see a doctor.

It could be a symptom of cancer and it could be a symptom of something else. This isn't grounds for a diagnosis of anything specific. Speak to your grandmother about your concerns and try to persuade her to see a doctor for a physical exam.

Take her to her doctor and tell them what's going on!

it could be a sign of cancer or an illness.
you don't say her age.
but older people naturally lose weight.
(my mom says it's because their digestive systems
are less efficient)
so it could be just normal aging.
