Its been almost a year since my ex-boyfriend broke up with me. I've tried to find someone else, but I havent had any luck. i'm very heartbroken over him, and I just can't figure out how to move on with my life and be able to think of him as just a friend. Any suggestions as to how I can get on with my life and think of him as my friend?

its usually hard to remain friends with someone you dated who you cared alot about.... the only way i have been able to get over people like that is to stop being friends with them also.... just get them out of your life completely.... that way you dont have to think about past feelings when you see or talk to them.... until you get over him you arent going to be able to give any new guys a fair chance at winning your trust and love... get him out of your life completely

Yea....try this one on for size. I left GA to travel almost 1000 miles to NYC try and start a life with my X Girlfriend only to get heartbroken 1 month after I arrived. That was almost 11 years ago but it took me 2 years to get over her because I really loved her.
In due time you will heal. My brother once told me that a broken heart will mend and in due time, your will as well. Until then this may sound like a motivational song or what-have-you, but hold your head high. The sun is going to come up tomorrow whether you are ready for it or not. That mean, you are going to live beyond this day to see a brighter one. After all, if you look that cute in a toon then I am quite sure that you will make some other man out there very happy. try doing some fun stuff, and try meeting a lot of new people, so u can get your mind off of him, you will soon realize that he is not the only man in the world that you can be with. It takes a lot of time to get over a break-up, especially if you really loved him but everything takes time. So just be patient
