I know there are parts of scripture in the Holy Bible which suggest that animals do not have souls. But do you ever wonder about this? Our pets can have such personality, such strong emotional responses. We know when they are mad, sad, and joyfull. They are sentient beings. Why should they not have the same spiritual esscence as humans supposedly do?

In the time that the Old Testament was written, animals had a different place among humans. They were most often beasts of burden, food, or something to be feared. There were laws about what you can and cannot eat because of health considerations - not because God favoured one animal over another.

There is a part of scripture in the Old Testament that an article of clothing should come from one type of fabric - no blends. Few would argue that this directive has any force or meaning today or at anytime.

I believe that all humans have an eternal soul. I often wonder is animals have the same.

What do you think? And why

We are all animals---just human beings---with dominion over other animals with God's authority. What is considered to be man's best friend? What is God spelled backwards? I think there is a "doggy heaven". I don't think they have the same soul as us because we would all be vegetarians so to speak. God loves the aroma from a bar-ba-que too. By the way, I'm not insinuating eating dogs, but don't take yours to the Philippines.

Animals are two-dimensional body and soul. Humans are three-dimensional body, soul and spirit.
Eternal means no beginning nor end. In this government of sin, most human beings WILL die. So right now they cannot have an eternal soul but due to the sacrifice of Christ we have an eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9

Yes, I do believe animals have a soul. I recently lost my 2-year old dog (he was run over), and I like to think he is an angel in heaven looking over me because, frankly, I was too hard to keep track of here on earth. When I told my brother-in-law's 5-year-old nephew Sparky was in heaven, he replied "That's the safest place to be" Oh, the wisdom of children.

I don't think they do and I believe that is a true statement.

Anyone or anything can have feelings but that doesn't give it a soul.

If we believe in a higher power and if you believe that you are made in the image and likeness of God (That is you have a capacity to love, forgive and love God with your whole heart and soul) then I think I would personally believe that animals are not humans and not held in that highest place by God.

Yes, I believe that God made all things good and all the universe and everything in it should be respected. So love your gifts (animals) on earth and know it is up to God; how,if, and why he will grant eternal life to an animal. "Be the loving caretaker of animals, but you are their master."

So in my theology of not-perfect thought; When we meet God face to face, I really believe it will be so enlightening, so far out, so awe inspiring, so warm, so dimensional, we will never think or desire anything for eternity except to be with him.

After all in scripture it says; we have to die to this world and all things in it. My belief; is that our capacity to love must be intact for all of our life.

Your guess is as good as mine. No one know what is in store for us but we know without making it to heaven we will be extremely sad, alone and in darkness for all eternity and that is way more then our short lifetime of chances to do good! God loves us and wants US with him, for sure!

Yes, I do believe that animals have souls. To me Heaven would seem sort of sad if I couldn't see some of the pets that I have known and loved.

I think Animals do not have souls as we know it. To have a soul I think you should be able to have a Conscious ...meaning you can tell the write from wrong or have the potential...

Also, God allowed us to kill animals and eat them so we can live...God; I am sure will not tell us to kill other souls so we can survive...he accepted sacrifices...Abraham was going to give his son up and God spoke to him and asked him to give a lamb instead...if the animal had the same equal soul, God would have not suggested it....

We can train animals and develop their intelligence based on what we think is right or wrong, they can't decide for themselves. ...but we can't give them soul...

The concept of soul is an human invention.
We are all animals and part of the circle of life.

Yes, I believe that they have souls. I believe this because my animals have far to much intelligence and personality not to have a soul.

"Do animals have souls? Cats, dogs, horses, chickens, snails, mice, skunks? Do they have eternal life?" - Yes.

"What do you think?" - I think animals have a place with GOD.
"Why?" - Because GOD made everything, and it is good. GOD enjoys what GOD has made (as much, or more - than we do). Animals must be part of the plan GOD has interwoven with us.
